PARK AVENUE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL & FREEHOLD INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL

Our firm was tasked with comprehensive additions, alterations, renovations, and site enhancements to an existing joint elementary and intermediate school complex. This project aimed to improve the facility's functionality, security, and infrastructure to better serve the educational community.

Project Scope

Additions:

• Library Media Center: Includes support offices and a computer instruction area.
• Intermediate School Gymnasium: Equipped with a girls' and boys' locker rooms.
• Cafeteria Expansion: Enhanced kitchen support spaces for storage and receiving.
• New General Classrooms: Expanded learning spaces for all 3-8 grade levels.
• Technology Department Expansion: Additional space for District IT services.
• Boys and Girls Toilet Rooms: Improved ADA accessible restroom facilities.
• Main Entrance Secure Vestibule: Includes an entrance and drop-off canopy.
• Main Office Reception and Waiting Area: Modernized administrative spaces.

Site Enhancements:

• New Drop-off Loop Drive: Located at the gym and library addition, with new sidewalks and parking areas.

Renovations:

• Pre-Kindergarten Room Conversion: Transformed into general classrooms and resource rooms.
• Small Group Room Conversion: Transformed into classrooms.
• Cafetorium Stage Conversion: Repurposed into serving and kitchen areas.
• Serving and Kitchen Conversion: Repurposed into resource and storage rooms.
• Storage/Receiving Area Conversion: Transformed into a new intermediate boys' locker room.
• General Classroom Conversion: Repurposed into a nurse's suite.
• Library Conversion: Transformed into a child study team suite and resource room.

Capital Upgrades:

• HVAC Systems Replacement: Building-wide upgrades including air conditioning.
• Technology Infrastructure Upgrades: Enhanced technology throughout the building.
• Utility Upgrades: Replacement of domestic water heaters, main electrical switchgear, interior lighting, emergency power systems, and building-wide fire alarm and public address systems.
• Partial Roofing Replacement: Improved building envelope.
• Student Locker Replacement: New lockers for students.
• Utility Upgrades: Enhanced electric, water, and natural gas utilities.

This extensive project enhanced the school complex's infrastructure, security, and educational environment, ensuring a modern and efficient facility for students and staff.
