  • Addition Size: 10,550 SF
  • Renovation Size: 3,950 SF
  • Construction Cost: $2.4M
  • Completion: 2006

For this addition and renovation project, the first floor and lower level addition incorporates the characteristics of the existing library facility, also designed by FVHD in 1999, to create a unified building within its residential context. The increase in the town population, library use, and demand for increased Children's Services facilitated the requirements for a substantial addition which reflects the needs of the community. Upon entry through the elaborated entrance lobby, the individual user is presented with clearly delineated program spaces. The expanded Adult Services Department provides an increase in displayed volumes as well as illuminated reading areas. The Children's Services Area provides for a diversity of reading and program activities within a secure environment.
