School security has long been a critical concern for educational institutions, with recent events intensifying the focus on enhancing safety measures. In response, school districts have been actively exploring ways to fortify their security infrastructure.
In collaboration with the Galloway Township School District, FVHD Architects-Planners undertook the creation of a new "Secure Lobby" at Arthur Rann Elementary School, a model that has been replicated across other schools in the district. This initiative involved renovating the existing lobby to increase security, incorporating a new pass-through security window, secure storefront windows and doors, and interior lobby doors equipped with security hardware. The project also included the installation of a new ramp to ensure barrier-free access and the addition of a canopy, enhancing both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the school's entrance.
