Afton Elementary School

PENNSBURY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Yardley, Pennsylvania

The Afton Elementary School relieved overcrowding in the northern area of the Pennsbury School District. Special design features such as a shingle clad sloping roof have been incorporated to create a facility that harmonizes with the school’s residential Bucks County setting. Decorative masonry patterns highlight the facade, emphasizing the linear features of the building. The school contains a two-story academic wing. Core facilities are contained in the one-story section of the building.

Student Capacity: 800
Grade Levels: K-5
Construction Cost: $10.2M

"I have been working with [FVHD] for many years. Their leadership, responsiveness, availability and willingness to work collectively with the administration and Board of Education to address the needs of our District have been commendable. I am pleased to say that projects undertaken by [FVHD] are completed on time and within budget, and a ll members of the firm are creative and reactive to the needs of our District. It is an extremely positive experience. I would strongly recommend [FVHD]!"
