Manahawkin, New Jersey
Stafford Township recognized the need to expand and modernize their existing police and municipal facility. FVHD recommended a complex incorporating all services. After six potential sites were analyzed, FVF advised that an addition and renovation of the existing police facility offered the best possible solution. As Stafford is the evacuation center for Long Beach Island, this center was designed to accommodate regional emergencies and command operations. An intricate component of the design included the relocation of a single three-shift radio communication center to a new three-station, three-shift operations center which was accomplished successfully through four construction phases without loss of radio communication. The facility includes a new courtroom and a committee room, which also serves as the Township’s Office of Emergency Management and the evacuation center for Long Beach Island, NJ.
Construction Cost: $5.5M
